Queen Elizabeth II passes away at 96, having reigned 70 years


Queen Elizabeth II, who was put under medical supervision due to the growing health concerns, has sadly passed away at 96 in her Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, where she had gone for her summer break. All her children and grandchildren arrived there due to concerns about her health.

A statement by His Majesty the King at the time of Queen's death, "The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family."

It further states, "We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and much loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world."

It ended with, "During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held."    

The Royal Family tweeted, "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon."

"The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow." the tweet added.
