Saudi accuses US for manipulating oil market

The ongoing oil war between US and Saudi Arabia has taken a new turn. The energy minister prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has rebuked Washington for manipulating the oil market after Joe Biden announced the release of additional 15 million barrels of oil from US strategic reserve.  Abdulaziz said, "People are depleting their emergency stocks and using it as a mechanism to manipulate markets while its profound purpose was to mitigate shortage of supply."  He further added, "It is my profound duty to make it clear to the world that losing emergency stock may become painful in the months to come." Perhaps, Biden's intention was to lower the gas prices. However, Saudi believes that the release of reserve was to build further pressure on the oil market with the intention of manipulating the prices and thus trying to control the international oil industry. US warns of consequences to Saudi Arabia over OPEC's oil production cut

The US president Joe Biden has recently made it clear that America is not happy with the way Saudi Arabia has been acting lately in relation to the OPEC's decision to cut back on oil production.  OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) led by Saudi Arabia has announced to cut the oil productions despite Washington objecting to this move. Spokesperson of National Security Council, John Kirby, said in a statement, "The president believes that we should review the bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia and to take a look to see if that relationship is where it needs to be, and that it is serving our national security interests." Saudi Arabia's key appointments in the Cabinet: Crown Prince is New PM

In the reshuffle of the cabinet, the three sons of the King of Saudi Arabia have been given important positions in the Cabinet. The de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of the kingdom. The second son Prince Khalid bin Salman has been made the defense minister.  While the third son Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has received energy ministry in his lot. This is an important move for the world as well, as Saudi Arabia is the largest oil exporter.  Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Investment Minister remain unchanged. The 86-year-old king Salman bin Abdulaziz took the power back in 2015, having been the Crown Prince for two and half years. However, his worsening health condition is affecting his duties.
