In April, the whole of Sri Lanka blamed and began a mass protest against him and his government for bringing the downfall of the country, in terms of worst economic crisis in the history. The country has been ailing due to the staggering inflation, acute shortages of oil, food and other basic commodities, pushing millions to go hungry and half a million below poverty line.
