TATA Group is planning to invest US$90 billion by 2027 in new industries such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, renewable energy, batteries and ecommerce. As per the group's new strategy, it intends to set up these manufacturing units in India itself, rather than focusing on international market. TATA has been expanding its presence in aviation industry, having recently acquired Air India for INR 18,000 crore (approx US$2.25 billion at current rate). The group has already made advances in various fast growing industries such as electric cars, and renewable energy, electronics.
