Saudi accuses US for manipulating oil market

The ongoing oil war between US and Saudi Arabia has taken a new turn. The energy minister prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has rebuked Washington for manipulating the oil market after Joe Biden announced the release of additional 15 million barrels of oil from US strategic reserve.  Abdulaziz said, "People are depleting their emergency stocks and using it as a mechanism to manipulate markets while its profound purpose was to mitigate shortage of supply."  He further added, "It is my profound duty to make it clear to the world that losing emergency stock may become painful in the months to come." Perhaps, Biden's intention was to lower the gas prices. However, Saudi believes that the release of reserve was to build further pressure on the oil market with the intention of manipulating the prices and thus trying to control the international oil industry. Could Saudi be right on its allegations? Since the oil cold war began, US has already released around 180 million bar...

US dollar reaches its highest against yen in over 30 years

Amidst the speculation about 100-basis-point interest hike due to the staggering inflation, US dollar reached its highest peak against yen. Next month at the policy meet, the Fed may announce the hike as predicted by many strategists. US dollar went up to 147.67 yen, an unexpected rise since August 1990, when it had recorded the highest peak at 147.66 yen. However, it quickly came down to 147.2 yen in a volatile session.  Last month, Japan's currency had fallen to 145.9 per dollar, which forced the country to intervene by spending nearly US$ 20 billion for the first time in 20 years. It is being speculated by traders that yen might decline even lower than 160.20 per dollar, which was recorded in April 1990. As per the labor department, the US consumer price index (CPI) has gone up 0.4% in September as against 0.1% rise in August.  Dollar also gained against euro and Swiss franc.  इस कहानी को हिंदी में पढ़ें Watch video:

The US president Joe Biden has recently made it clear that America is not happy with the way Saudi Arabia has been acting lately in relation to the OPEC's decision to cut back on oil production.  OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) led by Saudi Arabia has announced to cut the oil productions despite Washington objecting to this move. Spokesperson of National Security Council, John Kirby, said in a statement, "The president believes that we should review the bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia and to take a look to see if that relationship is where it needs to be, and that it is serving our national security interests." Saudi accuses US for manipulating oil market The US democrats insist that the US must end all arms sale as well as freeze all other aspects of cooperation with Saudi Arabia. However, a strong conflict is brewing up back home as the republicans are of the opinion that the president should focus on oil and gas production in the US it...

Federal Reserve trying to curb US inflation of over 8% by hiking rates

The Federal Reserve, central banking system  of the United States of America, is hell bent upon hiking rates despite the country's reeling market. It does it only with the intention of curbing the staggering inflation, which is going through the roof at over 8%. Unsure of when will the inflation be subdued, it will continue to tighten the monetry policy. American businesses, unable to deal with the rising costs, are passing on their burden to cutomers, causing demand to deflate. Growing costs of food, labor, invetory are making things more difficult to manage between what is essential and what is not so.  The American share market is not spared too and stocks are falling continuously for the past three quarters or so. While the Fed is stubborn on hiking rates, other ecomonies are taking a clue from the mounting US dollar price. Their central banks too are following suit in raising rates.  Does it show the growing desperation among top economies in the world? Is it a red f...

New York sees evidence of polio infection - declared state emergency

As polio virus is spreading across New York, the governor has declared a state emergency. The health officials have confirmed that the wastewater sample in New York and adjacent counties were tested positive for a poliovirus. They fear that this virus can cause paralysis, if people get infected. So far, only one case of infection has been confirmed.  The USA was declared polio-free in 1979 after the disease was largely eradicated by vaccinations starting from 1955. The new case is the first one ever since. What is worrisome is the fact that polio is an incurable disease. The only way is prevention through immunisation by vaccine. The virus causes paralysis among children, in some cases, leading to permanent disabilities and even death. The officials also worry that the vaccination rate is too low in the New York state. The health department is working towards raising the immunization rate to over 90% across the state. इस कहानी को हिंदी में पढ़ें   Watch Video    ...
