Resignation of Ms. Liz Truss doesn't come as a surprise. She was never the right candidate for the prime minister's position. It was a fantasy built around false promises - a castle built in the air.
The economic policies that she promised, and in no time took a U-turn, says it all about her incapability to think through such big decisions that could cripple the whole nation.
Wednesday saw a war of words between Truss and the Labour Party leader, Keir Starmer in the House of Commons. The combat went on for some time and Truss appeared a big loser. At the end Starmer said, "The only mandate she ever had was from the members opposite, it was a mandate built on fantasy economics and it ended in disaster."
He further added, "The country's got nothing to show for it except the destruction of the economy and the implosion of the Tory Party."
When finally, Starmer said the Conservatives' economic credibility is "gone" and asked "why is she still here?" Truss replied "I am a fighter and not a quitter." And she quit the very next day. Just like what she did to her policies.
