In the reshuffle of the cabinet, the three sons of the King of Saudi Arabia have been given important positions in the Cabinet. The de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of the kingdom. The second son Prince Khalid bin Salman has been made the defense minister.
While the third son Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman has received energy ministry in his lot. This is an important move for the world as well, as Saudi Arabia is the largest oil exporter.
Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Investment Minister remain unchanged.
The 86-year-old king Salman bin Abdulaziz took the power back in 2015, having been the Crown Prince for two and half years. However, his worsening health condition is affecting his duties. Although, the monarch will continue to preside over cabinet meetings as he has been attending.
