Mobilization order creates disorder in Russia: Protesters on street

The recent announcement of partial mobilization by Russian President Vladimir Putin has led to a large protests in the country. People have taken to streets, demanding for the reversal of the order. Hundreds have been arrested all over the country. However, the parliament has supported Putin's plan on mobilization.

Panic and chaos have created disorder in Russian cities. The jailed main opponent of Putin, Alexei Navalny said in a video statement during his court case, "This will result in a massive tragedy, in a massive amount of deaths." He further added, "In order to keep his personal power, Putin is tormenting a neighbouring country, killed people there and now is sending a huge quantity of Russian citizens into this war."

Navalny also called Russia-Ukraine war a "Criminal war." Opposition called for protest all over Russia after Putin signed the order of partial mobilisation of 300,000 reservists for the ongoing war. This is the first mobilization ever since the world war II battle between Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.

As the partial mobilization comes into effect immediately, the citizens of Russia fear that more such mobilization could be ordered in the future that could cost more lives in this war. They are protesting while chanting a slogan, "No to War."

In a nationally televised video, Putin has warned the West that he will use everything at his disposal to protect Russia. It could also mean, he is referring to using nuclear weapons.
